The DS12887A+ is a popular RTC chip designed to provide accurate timekeeping and calendar functions. It combines a 32.768 kHz quartz crystal oscillator with non-volatile RAM (NVRAM) to store time, date, and configuration data even when the power is removed. This makes it suitable for a wide range of applications where precise timekeeping is required.
