Its precision temperature-compensated circuit diligently monitors the VCC status, seamlessly transitioning to a backup supply upon primary power failure. The DS12885+ also offers the option to connect a lithium coin-cell battery to the VBAT input pin, ensuring uninterrupted timekeeping in the absence of primary power.
