These devices offer multiple protection modes with minimal external components, effectively guarding against overloads, short-circuits, voltage surges, reverse polarity, and excessive inrush current. The integration of back-to-back FETs ensures constant blocking of reverse current flow from output to input, making the eFuses well-suited for power MUX/ORing applications and systems that require load side energy hold up storage in the event of input power supply failure. Additionally, the devices employ a linear ORing based scheme to minimize DC reverse current and replicate ideal diode behavior with low forward voltage drop and power dissipation.
