It's okay. Capacitors are not small. Charging stops at 4.22 v. Overdischarge protection works at 2.5 v. You need to raise this threshold of protection so as not to kill the battery. This is done by soldering the diode with a voltage drop of 0.5 v in series with a resistor r5 100 om, anode to the plus output. Or watch the internet as it is done.
