Engineered for efficiency and reliability, the REG711EA-5/250 is a switched capacitor voltage converter that delivers a stable and low ripple output voltage from a wide range of input sources. This versatile converter is capable of operating within an input voltage range of 1.8V to 5.5V, making it suitable for a variety of battery sources, including single cell Li-Ion or multi-cell Nickel or Alkaline chemistries. What sets the REG711EA-5/250 apart is its ability to maintain regulation even with fluctuations in input voltage, providing seamless operation for step up or step down conversions without the need for an inductor. This feature not only ensures efficient DC/DC conversion but also reduces electromagnetic interference (EMI) in the application. Moreover, the high switching frequency of the converter allows for the use of small surface-mount capacitors, offering space-saving benefits and cost efficiency. Equipped with thermal protection and current limiting features, the REG711EA-5/250 ensures the safety of both the load and the regulator during fault conditions. With a low quiescent current of 1mA at full load, 60uA with no load, and less than 1uA in shutdown mode, this converter provides optimal performance in a slim MSOP-8 package with a component height of less than 1.1mm
