Tackling the power distribution requirements of USB Wakeup from the ACPI S3 state with finesse, the MIC2012ZM is a dual channel USB power switch that stands out for its efficiency. Seamlessly toggling between a 5V main supply and a 5V auxiliary supply commonly found in ATX power supplies, this device is designed to optimize power management. Through a smart current-limit threshold adjustment mechanism linked to ACPI states, the MIC2012 maintains a minimum current-limit of 500mA per channel in the active S0 state, meeting USB continuous output current specifications. In the S3 state, the current-limit can be reduced to 100mA per channel to minimize auxiliary supply current and uphold voltage regulation during fault conditions. The device also offers make-before-break switching to ensure smooth transitions between ACPI states without disruptions, while thermal isolation between channels prevents faults from spreading. Additionally, the provision of FAULT status outputs promptly alerts users to overcurrent and thermal shutdown occurrences for timely intervention
