Meet L6565N, the state-of-the-art current-mode primary controller IC. Specifically designed for offline Quasi-resonant ZVS flyback converters, this IC boasts a transformer demagnetization sensing input, which triggers MOSFET's turn-on for Quasi-resonant operation. Not only that, but its line voltage feedforward feature compensates for variations in power capability with the mains voltage. What really sets the L6565N apart is its special function for light load operation, automatically lowering the operating frequency while maintaining operation as close to ZVS as possible. With very low start-up and quiescent currents, the L6565N is able to keep consumption from the mains at light load low while complying with Blue Angel and Energy Star standards. Moreover, the IC includes a disable function, an on-chip filter on current sense, an error amplifier with a precise reference voltage for primary regulation, and an effective two-level overcurrent protection
